Ongoing Volunteering Opportunities
We have a number of ongoing volunteering opportunities available. All of our volunteering positions assist St Lucy’s provide our students with disabilities have the best educational experience possible. No previous experience is necessary as training is provided, but we do ask our volunteers to make an ongoing commitment. Opportunities that are currently open include:
About the role
We currently require volunteers to assist with our holiday activities (first week of school holidays), tasks include but are not limited to:
- Setting up and tidying up activities
- Support to students who need individual support
- Assisting our educators throughout the sessions
About You
- Between 15-19 years of age
- Enthusiastic about learning and be patient
- No prior experience necessary – all volunteers receive induction and training
- Can attend at least one day of the week above between 9am-3pm
- Have or willing to get a working with children check if above 18 years
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (2 doses if above 16 years, 2 doses if under 16 years)
- Can be used for Duke of Edinburgh volunteer hours

About the role
We currently require volunteers to assist in learning support for our one on one Reading Program. At St Lucy’s School we run a structured Intensive Reading Program using methods and resources from Macquarie MULTILIT Program, combined with our own successful techniques to become a successful reader.
About You
- Over 18 years of age
- Enthusiastic about learning and patient
- No prior experience necessary – all volunteers receive induction and training
- Have 2 hours a week available from 9.15-11.15am on either a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday for two terms.
- Have or willing to get a working with children check
– Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (2 doses if above 16 years, 2 doses if under 16 years)

We currently require classroom assistants to provide help to our educators within the classroom environment. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Setting up and tidying up activities
- Support to students who need individual support
- Assisting on activities outside of the classroom
- Attending excursions
About You
- Over 18 years of age
- No prior experience necessary – all volunteers receive induction and training
- Enthusiastic about learning and patient
- Have 2 hours a week available for a minimum of two terms (6 months)
- Have a or willing to get a working with children check
– Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (2 doses if above 16 years, 2 doses if under 16 years)
